In a positive development for the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Lieutenant Governor () Manoj Sinha said on Monday (14 September) that a massive package for the UT is set to be announced within a week, reports Economic Times.
Sinha went on to emphasise that it would be a package which J&K has "never received" and may never receive in future as well. He added that the package would include everyone, including the business community.
Sinha stressed that the package would address the grievances of the business community which has been suffering not just for the past 15 months, but for past 15 to 20 years. A committee constituted to design the package and assess the business losses has already submitted its report.
Sinha who only recently took charge as the LG of J&K from G C Murmu who is now the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, he underscored that the Government is committed to the development of the UT of J&K.
