Kanwariya Dragged Out Of Vehicle, Lynched To Death By A Mob In Road Rage

A 62-year-old man was lynched to death while six others were injured after a mob launched an assault on a vehicle carrying kanwariyas in Bihar. The incident took place near Bharthua turning in Siwan district on Wednesday (30 August) morning around nine.
As per reports, a Bolero car carrying kanwariyas from Deoghar had a minor dispute with a motorcycle rider. A report by The Telegraph says the vehicle accidentally hit the bike. A report by Dainik Bhaskar says the bike rider, identified as one Priyansu Kumar, wanted to overtake the Bolero but flew into a rage when the car didn’t give way.
The bike rider and the car driver got into a scuffle after which the bike rider reportedly called his henchman who launched a brutal assault on the vehicle occupants. They did not even spare the women. Janardan Yadav, 62, died of the assault.
Six others, namely Santosh Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Dharmendra, Dina, Chhote Sharma and Kanti Devi, received injuries and were sent to Jeradei government primary health centre.
The Telegraph quotes an unnamed police officer from Jeradei police station as saying that the kanwaiyas were dragged out of the vehicle and brutally beaten up.
A case against four accused was registered at the police station as per the statement given by Dharmendra Yadav.
