Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has tested positive for novel coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) and has been hospitalised, he tweeted on Sunday (2 August).
The CM tweeted, “ I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self quarantine.”

The former Bharatiya Janata Party president himself broke the news on Twitter and wrote, "On getting the initial symptoms of corona, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being Shadmitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors."
Several other leaders have tested positive for the disease in past including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.
