Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has tested positive for Covid-19 virus on Friday (16 April).
Yediyurappa was reportedly tested for Covid-19 two days back and was found to be negative for the infection. He was tested again today after showing symptoms of the disease.
"Upon having mild fever, today I got tested for Covid-19 and my report has come out positive. Although I am doing fine, I am being hospitalised based on the advise of doctors," CM Yediyurappa said in a tweet.
The Karnataka CM also requested all those who came into his contact recently to exercise self quarantine and observe for any symptoms of the disease.
Yediyurappa was admitted to Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bengaluru as he had a fever for the last 2 days.
After testing positive for Covid-19, the Karnataka CM will reportedly be shifted to Manipal Hospital.
It should be noted that Yediyurappa had also tested positive for the Coronavirus last year in August.
At that time, he was admitted to Manipal hospital on 2 August and had been discharged on 10 August 10 after a negative Covid report.
