Karnataka: With The Trust Vote Set For Thursday, State BJP Chief Yeddyurappa Confident Of Party Forming Government

Amid the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka facing a crisis with 16 of its MLAs having submitted resignations to the state assembly Speaker, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state unit chief BS Yeddyurappa on Monday (15 July) said that he was confident of forming the government in the coming days, reports Economic Times.
"I am quite confident that BJP government will come into existence in the next three to four days. The BJP will give the best administration in Karnataka," Yeddyurappa told the reporters.
The statement from Yeddyurappa came after the Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar fixed 18 July as the date for taking up the confidence motion moved by the Chief Minister (CM) HD Kumaraswamy.
"Kumaraswamy will not be able to continue as chief minister. He too knows it. I think he will quit after making a good speech (in the assembly)," said Yedyurappa. It should be noted that last year, Yeddyurappa had also quit in a similar situation after the BJP, which won the maximum number of seats in the state elections, could not secure the requisite numbers in the assembly.
