Kerala: Airport Authority Of India To Help Rebuild Mallapuram District Via Its CSR Scheme

The rebuilding of Mallapuram district in Kerala is being aided by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) which will spend Rs 1.14 crore under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme, The Hindu has reported.

As per the report, 30 lakhs have allocated for the reconstruction of 16 roads in the flood-ravaged tribal areas.

Some of the roads to be constructed are Mundakkadavu ST Colony Road in Karulai panchayat, Plakkal Chola ST Colony Road in Chaliyar panchayat, Vengad ST Colony Road in Chaliyar panchayat, Manjeeri ST Colony Road in Karulai panchayat, and Chelara ST Colony Road in Edavanna panchayat.

Calicut International Airport director K Sreenivasa Rao and District Collector Amit Meena have signed an MOU ( Memorandum of Understanding) to that end here on Wednesday in the presence of MP’s ( Member of Parliament’s) P.K. Kunhalikutty and E T Mohammed Basheer. Mr Rao also handed over Rs 2.69 lakh collected from the airport employees towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.

AAI will take up two other projects, them being a drinking water project in Ward 6 of Pallikkal grama panchayat costing Rs 40 lakh and a Homoeopathy hospital in Kalpakanchery panchayat costing Rs 44 lakh.

AAI officials have stated that all projects would be completed by the end of the current financial year.
