Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has expelled party leader A P Abdullakutty on charges of indiscipline, after he wrote a Facebook post praising Prime Minister Modi, reports Times Now.
Abdullakutty had said that the “PM has become popular because he has imbibed Gandhian values in his governance".
"This win in election is certainly due to the wide acceptance of Modi’s development agenda. PM Modi has reflected Mahatma Gandhi’s word that ‘when you develop a policy, you should remember the face of the poorest' in his rule," he had written.
“Swachch Bharath and Ujwala Yojana are examples of this,” the former MP from Kerala’s Kannur wrote on Facebook. “Through the Swacch Bharat scheme, he gave toilets to 9.26 crore families. He gave free electricity, gas connections to six crore families,” the Congress leader added.
He had also criticised the political commentators and said they should reflect on the reasons behind BJP’s thumping victory. After the post, he was served a show-cause notice.
