The Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prassad has pressed on the States and the judiciary to ensure that the trial in all rape cases involving minors as victims should be completed within a span of two months, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Prasad on Saturday (7 December) shared that he was set to write letters to the chief ministers of various states and the chief justices of all high courts to ensure action and speedy trial in this regard.
Prasad also shared that he has already issued all necessary directions to his department in this regard.
The push from Prasad comes amidst his Ministry's proposal to establish a whopping 1,023 fast track courts (FTCs) across the nation to particularly ensure speedy trial in cases related to crimes against women.
