Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi while speaking to the media after being nominated to the Rajya Sabha said that he is accepting the nomination as he strongly feels that the legislative and the judiciary at some point of time have to work together for nation building.
“I have accepted it since I have a strong conviction that the legislative and the judiciary must at some point of time work together for nation-building”, Justice Gogoi was quoted as saying by the media.
He added that his presence in the parliament will give him a chance to project the views of the judiciary before the legislative and vice versa.
The former chief justice is expected to go to Delhi tomorrow to take oath as a Rajya Sabha MP. As per Justice Gogoi he will explain in detail his reasons for accepting the nomination, post that.
