The ambulance that was attacked and the bricks used for the purpose.
Members of the violent mob which brutally attacked health officials and police personnel in Moradabad when they went to pick up a Covid-19 patient, had made it clear that they will not be tested and if Coronavirus spreads as a result, so be it, Amar Ujala has reported.
As per the report, the mob had already made up its mind not to cooperate with the team of cops and health personnel. As per the team’s reported account in the FIR, the violent crowd was not ready to listen to any reasoning.
The area was declared a Covid-19 hotspot after one of its resident named Sartaj tested positive and died.
Despite the hostility, when the medical team tried explaining that they are their well-wishers, the mob defiantly said that, “Corona sankraman failna hai to failne do, hum medical test nahin karane denge (If Coronavirus spreads, let it spread, well will not allow any testing)“.
Then suddenly the mob attacked the health personnel and cops with sharp weapons and sticks before the latter could react. Soon stone pelting also started from nearby rooftops.
This attack resulted in a doctor and technician receiving serious injuries. One doctor was also held hostage by the mob. Seventeen people have now been arrested in connection with the matter.
