Lucknow: Top Bollywood Singer Tests Positive For Coronavirus After Allegedly Evading Protocol, Throwing A Party

A prominent Bollywood singer has tested positive for coronavirus in Lucknow along with three other individuals, thereby taking the tally to nine in the state, ANI has reported.
As per ABP News editor Pankaj Jha, the female Bollywood singer had recently returned back from London and tried to evade the necessary self-isolation protocol. After landing she reportedly stayed at an upscale Lucknow hotel and also threw a dinner party there.
She has now been placed in an isolation ward. As per an India Today journalist the singer had attempted to hide her travel itinerary from authorities. The party hosted by the singer was attended by at least 100 people.
The singer Kanika Kapoor who has chosen to reveal her identity has issued a statement urging people to practice self-isolation if they show coronavirus symptoms,
The Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government had recently warned of strict action including jail for those who do not cooperate in the state's efforts to control the novel Coronavirus outbreak.
UP health minister Jai Pratap Singh said that the concerned authorities have been given power under section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act to take all necessary actions in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.
"We will take action against any suspect if he/she refuses to get tested or runs away from authorities. Action will also be taken against any person who tries to hide such patients, misleads or obstructs the health team from conducting its duty. If required, offenders will also be sent to jail as per the law," he said.itenera
