Madras HC Judge Believes Something Is Fishy About Jaya’s Death, Calls For Probe

A fresh controversy ignited on Thursday when Justice S Vaidyalingam of the Madras High Court expressed doubts over Jayalalithaa's demise and asked why her body cannot be exhumed. Vaidyalingam was hearing a petition demanding an inquiry into the former chief minister’s death.
"Media has raised a lot of doubts, personally I also have doubts in Jayalalithaa's death," Justice Vaidyalingam said. "When she was admitted in hospital, it was said that she was on proper diet. At least after her death now, the truth should be revealed," the judge added.
This comes immediately after Sasikala Natarajan was unanimously elected as the AIADMK general secretary in the party’s council meet today.
The bench comprising Justice Vaidyanathan and Justice Parthiban, hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) of AIADMK party worker P A Joseph, issued a notice to the state government and said: "Why not, at least after her death, some proof was given."
Multiple petitions, including one moved by expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala, have been filed in courts seeking a CBI probe or a judicial investigation into the death the former Tamil Nadu chief minister. Jayalalithaa loyalist Shihan Hussaini has also alleged that she was killed and wants Amma's body exhumed.
