The Mains examination of review officer/assistant review (RO/ARO) officer has been postponed for an indefinite period by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission after its failure to announce the results of the preliminary examination in time, as reported by Times of India.

The exam, scheduled on November 25 to 27, was being conducted to fill 465 vacancies.

Officials have confirmed that the preliminary results would now be announced on December 15. There are three stages of exams- preliminary, mains and interview.

Anju Katiyar, the UPPSC Examination Controller, said, "The exam is being cancelled for unavoidable results and the schedule for RO/ARO (mains) exams will be announced as soon as possible."

After the exam, the Commission had released the answer-key and called for submission of objections by 15 October. It was expected to announce the results in a time-bound manner based on the revised answer key.

UPPSC Secretary Jagdish has said that they have sped up the process of the announcement and the prelims results would be declared before 15 December.

The prelims exam of RO/ARO has been conducted in 1,146 examination centres of 21 districts on 8 April by the Commissioner. Of the 5.33 lakh registered candidates, 63.76 per cent had appeared in the exams.
