West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to the left parties and the Congress to join hands with Trinamool in an effort to combat BJP, CNN News18 has reported.
Mamata also spoke on the Rafale issue by claiming that she neither supported nor opposed the Congress over the matter.
Mamata has recently been in the news over the matter of her instructing Trinamool leaders to return back cut money they received from businessmen in exchange of approval of government projects.
This has resulted in some Trinamool leaders returning back their cut money which included a Trinamool booth president from Birbhum district’s Chatra giving back Rs 1,641 per person to 141 villagers who had applied for jobs under MGNREGA.
Mamata though has refused to acknowledge corruption in her party by claiming that politicians in Bengal are more honest as compared to politicians of other states.
