Cyberabad’s Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar in a press conference on Friday afternoon (6 December) revealed details of the police encounter which killed all four accused in the rape and murder of Hyderabad vet Disha.
While addressing the media, Sajjanar informed that one of the accused Mohammed Areef first fired at the cops, following which all the four accused were killed in retaliation, Times Now has reported.
Areef is said to have been the main accused in the matter. The three other accused were identified as Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu.
The Commissioner informed that the accused were not handcuffed and two of them snatched the pistols of cops. He added that the cops had gone to scene to recover the victim’s mobile phone and other belongings.
After the accused snatched the pistols, the cops warned them to surrender but they decided to fire several shots at the police. As a result, the cops too retaliated and the encounter lasted for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Unlike previously reported, the shoot out took place between 5.45 and 6.15 AM in the morning. Two cops were injured in the encounter process.
The commissioner also remarked that the law has done its duty and all four accused had confessed to the crime.
