"Today India is among most successful in saving lives," PM Modi said.
"Many around the world thought India would be worst-affected country by Covid-19 and face tsunami of corona infections," he said.
Highlighting India's role in global Covid-19 vaccination drive, PM Modi said that India is helping many countries by sending Covid-19 vaccines and creating vaccine-related infrastructures there.
He informed that apart from the two current made in India vaccines, more vaccines are in pipeline which will enable India to help the world at greater scale and speed.
"Right now there are two made in India vaccines. World Economic Forum will be relieved to know that in the time to come many more vaccines will come from India,” he said.
It should be noted that two Covid-19 vaccines - Serum Institute of India's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin - has been approved in India for emergency use.
India has also started shipment of Covishield to many countries around the world.
