Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mohammed Mahmood Ali announced that Telangana Rashtra Samiti will be providing 12 per cent reservations for Muslims in the field of education and employment once elections are done, The Hindu reported. The existing four per cent reservations for religious minorities constituted by the former Y S Rajashekara Reddy-led Congress government is due to the pressure exerted by K Chandrashekhar Rao, he added.
He brushed aside the possibility of aligning with the BJP before or after the elections and said that their presence is too little to make a difference in the state politics. He also said that KCR is the best Chief Minister in the country and that the delegation of MLAs from J&K Assembly lauded the TRS government for being secular in nature.
TRS Member of Parliament K Kavitha said that Congress is solely responsible for those people who have migrated to the middle-eastern countries in search of better jobs and opportunities, since their policies failed to help them in any possible manner.
She claimed that the Congress government back then, despite bringing the NRI department into place from 2006, had not done a single thing for the community. It is only in 2011 that the money was allocated.
