MP: Former Sports Minister Rathore Condoles Death Of Four National-Level Hockey Players In A Car Accident Near Bhopal

As many as four national-level hockey players were killed while three others sustained injuries in a car accident near Risalpur village in Hoshangabad of Madhya Pradesh on Monday (14 October), reports Indian Express.

The players were reportedly travelling from Itarsi to Hoshangabad to participate in the Dhyan Chandra trophey when the accident occurred. The accident, according to the reports, took place near the Risalpur village on National Highway 69.

The national level hockey players who lost their lives in the tragic accident were Shahnawaz Khan, Adarsh Hardua, Ashish Lal and Aniket.

Former sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore as well as former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan expressed grief on the sad demise of the players.

“The death of our 4 national hockey players in a car accident in Hoshangabad near Risalpur Village is a tragic loss to their families and the nation. My deepest sympathies are with the families of those who died and prayers to recover soon for those who got injured,” Rathore tweeted.

All the injured players have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where the condition of one is stated to be critical.
