Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train: Major Land Acquisition To Be Completed By December, Says NHSRCL

A major chunk of remaining 850 hectares land for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is set to acquired the by December this year, Rail Analysis India reports.
Earlier, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) had said that they completed the acquisition of 39 per cent of 1,387 hectares land needed in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
“Two or three months back the total land acquired was 33 per cent. And within 90 days we were able to acquire over 6 per cent more land,” Sushma Gaur, spokesperson of NHSRCL said.
The ambitious bullet train project, once completed would see trains travelling at 320 km/hr, and cover the 508 km stretch within two hours. The project is a daunting task as the route includes a mountain tunnel of about 280 meters, 24 river crossings and 30 road and canal crossings.
The NHSRCL has already floated tenders to construct various tunnels and stations. Based on the city they are located in, four stations on the rail corridor would feature uniquely themed stations.
