Mumbai Metro: State Cabinet Approves Three Corridors Covering 50 Kms Of Metropolitan Region, To Cost Rs 24,000 Crore

Maharashtra state cabinet on Tuesday (23 July) has approved three corridors-10, 11 and 12 to serve in the populated Mumbai Metropolitan Region as well as to commuters travelling from Wadala to General Post office (GPO) in South Mumbai, a tweet from journalist Rajendra B. Aklekar reveals.
The three corridors would add 50 kms to the Mumbai Metro rail network at an estimated cost of Rs 24,000 crore. The three corridors are- Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk (Metro-10 corridor), Wadala to GPO (Metro-11 corridor) and the longest Kalyan to Taloja (Metro-12 corridor).
The 11km-long Metro-10 corridor will be constructed at the cost of Rs 5,000 crore. Stations on the route are Gaimukh, Gaimukh Reti Bundar, Versova Chaar Phata, Kashi Mira and Shivaji Chowk.
The Wadala to GPO in South Mumbai will cover 14 kms, including Wadala RTO, Ganesh Nagar, BPT Hospital (Elevated), Sewri Metro, Hay Bundar, Coal Bundar, Darukhana, Wadi Bundar, Clock Tower, Carnac Bundar and CSMT Metro (All Underground). The construction of the Metro-11 corridor is estimated at Rs 8,000 crore.
The Metro-12 corridor will cover 25 kms, and cost Rs 11,000 crore. Stations on this corridor are APMC Kalyan, Ganesh Nagar, Pisawali Gaon, Golvali, Dombivli MIDC, Sa Gaon, Sonar Pada, Manpada, Hadutane, Kole Gaon, Nilje Gaon, Wadavali, Bale, Vaklan, Turbhe, Pisawe Depot, Pisawe and Taloja.
