‘Murderer Of Gandhi Getting Bharat Ratna’: Karnataka Congress Leader Siddaramaiah Attacks Veer Savarkar

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a party workers meeting in Mangaluru on Friday (18 October) called Veer Savarkar a murderer and slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its plan to award Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar posthumously, reports News18.
He said that Savarkar was one of the accused in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, but was freed as the charges could not be proved due to lack of evidence.
"The murderer of Mahatma Gandhi is getting Bharat Ratna! Those who conspired to eliminate Gandhiji are getting Bharat Ratna!
Should BJP be allowed to gain a foothold in Mangaluru, known as a land of intellectuals?" Siddaramaiah was reported saying in the meeting.
He also alleged that RSS and Hindu Mahasabha never took part in the freedom struggle and worked with the British.
