NDA Crosses Majority Mark In Bihar As It Leads On 129 Seats; BJP Largest Party With 70 Seats

The BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has crossed the majority mark in Bihar as the alliance now leads on 124 seat out of 243. The BJP is emerging as the single largest party in the state with 70 seats, its alliance partner the JD(U) is ahead on 53 seats. The Vikasheel Insaan Party is leading on six seats.
On the Mahagathmandhan side the RJD is leading on 60 seats while its alliance partner the Congress is leading on 20 seats. The left parties which are in alliance with the Mahagathbandhan are leading on 19 seats.
If the results hold, it will be a big victory for NDA alliance and Nitish Kumar with the latter looking at his fourth consecutive Chief Ministerial term. It may be recalled that virtually all the exit polls had predicted a Mahagathbandhan victory in the state. Some polls had even predicted a landslide victory for the RJD led alliance.
