Netflix Categorically Denies Self-Censorship, Calls The Story Published By The Print “Inaccurate And Entirely False”

Netflix has categorically denied any self-censorship of its content in India as claimed by one of the news items of The Print. Netflix said, "The information quoted is inaccurate and entirely false. Netflix was never in this meeting", as reported by the Deccan Herald.
A story published by the online news site had claimed that Netflix and Hotstar in a meeting with Information and Broadcasting Ministry on 25 October had come to a compromise and agreed to self-regulate their content in India.
However, an anonymous I&B official told HuffPost that although there was a meeting on 30 October between tech sites including Netflix with the government , there had been no conclusions on self-censorship.
At present , Amazon is the only one known to censor its content on its streaming platform Prime Video. But there have been demands against Netflix to censor content after it had "hurt sentiments" in the Sacred Games as well as for showing obscene and vulgar content on its OTT platform.
