Never Give Up: ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 Mission Approved By Government; Moon Landing In 2021

Just a few months after ISRO came agonisingly close to a soft landing on the lunar surface, the space agency is already working on the Chandrayaan-3 project.
ISRO chief K Sivan on New Year (1 January) confirmed that the central government has approved the project and it is slated to be implemented in 2021, India Today has reported.
As per the ISRO chief, Chandrayaan-3 will have the same configuration as that of its predecessor thus indicating that it too will have a lander and a rover. The landing location too will be the same as that of Chandrayaan-2.
The total cost of the project is slated to be around Rs 615 crore, almost Rs 350 crore less than its predecessor. The preparation for this mission will be carried our simultaneously along with the Gaganyaan mission - India’s first human spaceflight mission.
