Senior BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa while speaking to the media stated that a new era of development would begin in Karnataka after the Congress-JD(S) government collapsed as a result of losing the trust vote.
“My priority will be the annadaata farmer who is drought stuck, I assure the farming community to soon begin work for their welfare. It is a victory of the democracy, people were fed up with the Kumaraswamy govt, I want to assure the people of Karnataka that a new era of development will start now”, Yeddyurappa was quoted as saying.
The official twitter account of the BJP Karnataka called the trust vote a victory for the people of Karnataka. It also indicated the party’s intention to stake claim by stating that, “we promise a stable and able governance to the people of Karnataka”.
After losing the trust vote, Kumaraswamy headed to the Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to the Governor Vajubhai Vala. Congress leaders like Siddaramaiah meanwhile have asserted that they would never induct the rebel MLAs back into their party, come what may.
