A student, recently arrested by the Jharkhand police for a supposedly objectionable post against the Muslim community, has questioned a Ranchi court order directing her to distribute Qurans at various educational institutions.

The court recently granted conditional bail to the girl student identified as Richa Bharti in connection with the matter provided she distributes one copy of Quran at Sadar Anjuman Islamia Committee and rest four at various schools and colleges.

In its 14 July bail order, the court directed Bharti to get acknowledgement slips from the institutions and furnish them before the court within 15 days.

However, Bharti has told a media house that she would stand her ground. In an interview given to Zee Bihar Jharkhand, she has stated that she does not wish to comply with the court order.

While giving a brief background of the case, Bharti claimed that a case was filed against her by the local Muslim community after she shared a critical Facebook post over Tik Tok users who called for revenge against Tabrez Ansari’s death.

Coming to the court order, Bharti claimed that if today she is being asked to distribute Quran, tomorrow she could be asked to offer Namaz or even convert to Islam. She asked whether any Muslim has ever been asked to read Ramayana or Hanuman Chalisa for insulting Sanatana Dharma.

Her arrest had earlier drawn strong protests from the local community members who staged a dharna outside the Pithoria police station and relented only after an assurance from the local police that she would be released soon.
