Separatist leader Asiya Andrabi.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the house of women’s separatist outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat leader Asiya Andrabi in Srinagar as part of its probe against her in a terror financing case, reports Zee News.
The attachment was made under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The seizure means that Andrabi cannot sell off her residence till the investigation is concluded, although her family can still stay there.
Recently, the NIA has revealed that Andrabi had made a confession under interrogation about her women protests in Jammu & Kashmir being organised by using foreign funds.
"During interrogation, Asiya Andrabi admitted she had been collecting funds and donations from foreign sources, for which her organisation Dukhtaran-e-Millat had been organising protests by Muslim women in the Valley," the NIA was quoted as per ANI.
The NIA has also disclosed that it was able to get Andrabi to confess after confronting her with proof of son’s higher studies in Malaysia being funded with the same hawala money she was receiving to conduct protests.
