The Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government had denied Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter permission to land for addressing a rally at Siliguri on Sunday (14 April), Financial Express has reported.
This comes after the Congress president has been attacking the Mamata led Trinamool establishment on various issues including law and order.
This development comes after the Mamata led government had denied similar landing permission for senior BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Yogi Adityanath was also denied such a permission to land his chopper in Bengal’s Purulia, following which he decided to land in Jharkhand and travel to the venue by road. He was also denied permission to land in Balurghat and subsequently addressed the crowd via video conferencing.
Along parallel lines, former Jharkhand CM and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arjun Munda was also denied permission by the incumbent administration to hold a public rally in Bishnupur in Bankura district.
