The office of District Magistrate of Ganjam district in Odisha tweeted on Monday afternoon (17 May) that it has received no communication either from Sonu Sood or his foundation over the actor arranging a bed for a desperate patient.
The District Magistrate's office claimed that the patient in question is in a stable condition in home isolation and no bed unavailability in this case have come to light.
The response by the District Magistrate has been made with relation to a tweet by Sood on 15 May wherein he claimed to have arranged a bed at the GanjamCity Hospital in Berhampur after an appeal by a Twitter user named Pradip.
The tweet by Pradip to which Sood replied purportedly pleaded for help said that his efforts to find a bed for his wife either in Barhampur or Bhubaneswar have ended in failure. It has now been deleted. The account had tagged Sood in another tweet on 14 May seeking oxygen for his wife.
A few days ago noted philanthropist and film maker Manish Mundra had called out alleged PR hype surrounding Sood after a magazine reported that he (Sood) had arranged for the import of oxygen plants from France.
"Hope you know the cost of the oxygen plant. And how many is he importing. Let’s get the import documents. Enough is enough. Don’t created such PR hype it creates unnecessary disturbance on the teams who are actually working on ground.", Mundra had tweeted.
