Odisha: IAS Officers To Contribute Rs 10,000 Each For Relief And Restoration Works In Cyclone Fani Hit Areas

As the state of Odisha is on its way to return to normalcy after being hit by cyclone Fani, various sections of the society, including officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) are contributing in their own ways to restore day to day lives of the public, reports The Pioneer.
Coming together in solidarity for the victims of the calamity and restoration of the affected areas, the IAS Officers’ Association has pledged to contribute a sum of Rs 10,000 per member to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), said association secretary Vishal Kumar Dev on Wednesday (8 May).
Meanwhile, citizens all over the country are volunteering towards coordinated efforts to supply relief materials to the people of the affected region.
Joining the effort, the Adani group pledged a sum of Rs 25 crore to the CMRF and expressed its willingness to extend full support to the rehabilitation efforts of the Odisha government for those affected.
As part of rehabilitation work, Dhamra Port Company Limited (DPCL), a wholly owned unit of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) is coordinating with government officials and their on-ground staff for distribution of food, water and medical supplies.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had also donated Rs 1 crore to CMRF for helping the victims of the cyclone in Odisha.
