Beginning today (4 December) the much-awaited common mobility card has been made available in the national capital, Metro Rail News has reported.

The passes will be available at all Delhi Metro stations and a few DTC pass counters as per the report. The cards have been launched by the Government of Delhi in collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), with the tagline “One Delhi, One Ride”.

Flagging off the initiative, Transport Minister in Delhi Cabinet Kailash Gahlot was quoted by as saying, “For majority of the people to switch over to public transport, they need to see and experience Delhi’s Metro and buses in the same light – as part of a well-integrated and seamless public transport system.”

For the users of the common mobility card, a discount of 10 per cent on fare has been offered. An app to track bus locations is also set to be launched which will help commuters plan their trips in conjunction with the Delhi metro better.

While the Delhi Metro passes currently in use will continue to be functional, all new cards and replacements will be ONE cards, an official said.
