Over 2.58 Crore COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Still Available With States And UTs, 19.95 Lakh More In Pipeline: Centre

Over 2.58 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and union territories (UTs) to be administered and nearly 20 lakh more jabs will be provided to them within next three days, the Health Ministry said on Friday (18 June).

In a statement, the ministry said that the Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category, more than 27.90 crore (27,90,66,230) COVID-19 vaccine doses to states and UTs.

"Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 25,32,65,825 doses (as per data available at 8 am today)," the Health Ministry said.

More than 2.58 crore (2,58,00,405) COVID-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered, it said.

Furthermore, more than 19,95,770 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the states and UTs within the next three days, the ministry added.

According to the ministry, under the 'Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination', implementation of which started from 1 May, every month 50 per cent of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by the Centre and will be supplied free of cost to states and UTs.
