Pakistani Foreign Minister has indicated his country’s willingness to into discussions with India, saying that they were ready for “conditional dialogue”, as per The New Indian Express.

This comes following Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s statement that India was open to bilaterally discuss outstanding issues with Pakistan, but only in a terror and violence free environment.

Relations between the two countries have been at a low point since earlier this month (August 2019) when the Indian government decided to get rid of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by abolishing Article 370; the Pakistani government publicly came out against the move and took a series of steps to downgrade ties with India.

Islamabad has since then also been trying to highlight the matter in international forums, but with limited success. New Delhi maintains that the Kashmir issue is an internal matter of the country and there is no role for any international mediation regarding the same.
