Pakistan Army Is Conducting A Military Exercise Close To The Indian Border

The Pakistan Army is in the process of conducting a military exercise in Bahawalpur town in Punjab province, which is located strategically near India, reported Rediff. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army chief General Raheel Sharif will be reportedly reviewing the readiness of the forces to deal with any situation. Officials said Sharif may be the chief guest at the exercise.
This event, where helicopter gunships and ground troops will participate, comes days after seven Pakistani soldiers were killed along the Line of Control. This exercise is being carried out to show the state of readiness of Pakistani military, which may have arisen due to the recent escalation of tensions with India, said security officials.
Sharif on Tuesday (15 November) claimed that Pakistan cannot be intimidated by India and it was fully capable of defending itself. He added that Indian forces are threatening regional peace and security.
