Pakistan Navy Helps Indian Fishermen But Makes Them Shout ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ In Return

A case of highly unprofessional behaviour by the Pakistani Naval forces has come to light as sailors on-board the PNS Alamgir made Indian fishermen shout ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in return for their help in repairing the fishing vessel’s engine.
According to a report by The New Indian Express, video of the Indian fishermen hailing Pakistan were also broadcast in the country by Pakistan TV.
The 12 fishermen, hailing from Colachel and Nagapattinam districts of Tamil Nadu were stranded at sea after their boat’s engine developed a technical snag on 15 April. Several vessels responded to the boat’s distress call but the engine couldn’t be repaired.
PNS Alamgir responded to the call on 27 April and the sailors abroad the Pakistani ship repaired the engine and extended other help like food, medicines etc to the Indian fishermen. However, the fishermen were surprised when the Pakistani personnel asked them to shout ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in return for the assistance.
"The fishermen in their statement said the Pak navy men asked them to shout the slogan in return for the assistance provided by the navy. Also, the videos of Indian fishermen hailing Pakistan was broadcasted by Pakistan TV," a Special Branch officer has been quoted as saying in the report.
The haughtiness displayed by the Pakistani naval officers has caught Indian security agencies by surprise that have now recorded statements of the 12 fishermen.
