Pakistan Offers To Help Sri Lanka In Counter Terrorism Efforts, Condemns Bombings

In the aftermath of the terrorist suicide bombings which Sri Lanka on Sunday (21 April), Pakistan has offered to help the country in its counter-terrorism efforts, reports Geo TV.

The death toll from the bombings, which targeted churches and 5-star hotels in multiple cities, has now risen to at least 359, with hundreds more wounded. ISIS has taken responsibility for the attack.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephone call with the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and communicated condolences to victims’ families.

He stated that the Pakistani people were standing with the people of Sri Lanka and mourned the deaths of the victims. He added that terrorism does not see boundaries, nor religion, and was a threat to regional and global peace.

Khan said that Pakistani condemns terrorism in all varieties and forms and will keep on supporting measures to wipe it out. He reiterated his country’s offer to aid Sri Lanka in its fight against terrorism.
