Pakistan Army's former chief General Mirza Aslam Beg has mooted the idea of using the Kartarpur corridor to fuel Khalistani movement in India and instigate trouble in the state of Punjab, reports India Today.

"Pakistan army and the government should create trouble for India through Khalistan movement," Beg said asserting that terror was the only way to “teach India a lesson.”

"The Indian army at LoC cannot stop the jihadis" he added.

Given Pakistan's historical usage of terror to stir troubles in different parts of India and specifically in Jammu and Kashmir, these words coming from the former army chief of the belligerent Pakistan could have serious implications. General Beg is known for his history of endorsing hybrid war against India.

The words from General Beg also stand in consonance with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan's threat to India that the people of his country are ready to fight for the 'freedom' of Kashmir, while also calling India's move to scrap Article 370 a 'strategic' blunder.

Meanwhile, India has not yet responded to the threat from General Beg who holds considerable clout in the Army supervised civilian administration of Pakistan.
