Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman (PTI)
In a major development, the Pakistani commando who had captured Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman after his Mig-21 Bison fighter jet had crashed in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) was killed by Indian Army while assisting infiltrators to cross into India, reports Times Now.
Ahmed Khan, a part of Pakistan's Special Service Group (SSG), died after being at the receiving end of firings from Indian end along the Line of Control (LoC) to deter the infiltrators from entering the Indian mainland. The incident took place on 17 August in the Nakyal sector of the LoC.
The death was confirmed after photos of the late Pakistani commando were released by Pakistan. Also, in the photos released after the capture of Abhinandan, a bearded Khan can be seen behind him.
Khan was known to be one of Pakistan's ace infiltrators. He used to facilitate terrorists’ infiltration bid in Nowshera, Sunderbani and Pallan Wala sectors to facilitate ‘Kashmir Jihad’.
