Pakistani Nationals Have Been Deported The Most In The Recent Past

Pakistanis form the overwhelming majority of the number of people deported from various countries across the world over the last few years.
Nearly two-and-a-half lakh Pakistanis were deported from various countries between 2012 and 2015, including 9,778 from the United Kingdom (UK) in the span of these three years. Most of these deportations were over security-related issues.
A report prepared by Pakistan's own Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that 2,42,817 Pakistanis were sent back to Pakistan from various countries between 2012 and 2015. Compare this to the total number of 5,13,231 individuals of several nationalities deported from various countries across the world in the eight-year period from 2007 to 2015, and it would be apparent that most of them were from Pakistan.
Most of the deportations of Pakistanis were from Gulf countries that Pakistan claims special ties with because of the shared religion (Islam). Saudi Arabia deported 1.31 lakh Pakistanis between 2012 and 2015, followed by the United Arab Emirates with more than 32,000 deportations, Iran with 28,684, Oman with 17,248, Greece with 14,145, UK with 9,778 and Malaysia with 8,861.
The FIA report said more than 14,000 Pakistanis were lodged in prisons in these countries, most of them charged with serious offences like illegal migration and involvement in terrorist activities.
