Pakistani Operatives Hack National Security Guard’s Website, Deface It With Anti-India Content

The official website of the country's elite security force, National Security Guards, was hacked early Sunday morning by some Pakistan-affiliated operatives. The hacker group, which identifies itself as ‘Alone Injector’, defaced the website with an abusive message targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The website was blocked soon after the authorities took notice of the hack.
The hackers did not take down the entire site and retained most of the elements on the page. An image of police thrashing civilians was also uploaded on to the website’s homepage with the accompanying text calling for “Free Kashmir”.
The frame with links to other pages was left unaffected as the main page was replaced with their message. The hackers posted text in the news section of the website. References were made to the Pakistan’s infamous intelligence agency and pro-Pakistan messages were posted. "Aao na kabhi khushbou laga kay Lahore? 487 tanks…1965 yaad hai na?" read a message.
In October 2016, the same group had hacked the website of India’s National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). Hacking of Indian government websites by suspected Pakistani cyber attackers is not uncommon. It has only increased in the recent past. According to the data from the Information Technology Ministry, close to 1,500 government websites were hacked between January 2010 and December 2015.
