In a major revelation, the Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh has confirmed that the letter levelling serious allegations against state home minister Anil Deshmukh was indeed sent from his own email id.

"A signed copy of the letter will also be sent to the CM's office soon," he reportedly told media persons. He also stated that everything mentioned in the letter was true.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office (CMO) claimed that the letter from former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh that levels serious allegations against state home minister Anil Deshmukh was not received from the top cop's official email ID. The CMO had said that it was trying to contact Singh to verify the letter's authenticity.

Param Bir Singh in a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray yesterday had alleged that state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had asked controversial cop Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore.

In a letter which comes days after he was transferred to the Home Guards, Singh alleged that Vaze was called by Deshmukh to his residence multiple times in the past and asked to assist in the "collection of funds".

Singh stated that during one of these occasions Deshmukh in presence of his personal secretary told Vaze that he has a target to collect Rs 100 crore per month.

Deshmukh allegedly told Vaze that he can collect Rs 2 to 3 lakh per month from 1,750 bars, restaurants, and other establishments in Mumbai. This Deshmukh allegedly said this will help collect Rs 40-50 crore and the rest can be collected from other sources.

Singh goes on to write that, "Vaze came to my office the same day and informed me of the above. I was shocked with the above discussion and was mulling over how to deal with the situation".
