Popular YouTube star PewDiePie who is currently embroiled in a battle for subscriber supremacy with T-Series suffered a backlash from Indian social media users for his comments made in context of the Pulwama terror attack.

During one of his videos PewDiePie spoke of a news story about T-Series removing music of Pakistani artists following the Pulwama terror attack. The report mentioned that as a mark of protest Pakistanis began to subscribe to PewDiePie instead.

After expressing ignorance over the ongoing India-Pakistan situation he read out a line from the Wikipedia page to make his subscribers ‘aware’ of the Pulwama attack.

He then sarcastically went on to ask why did the matter warrant India’s refusal to work with Pakistan artists and commented with phrases like “am I missing something here”, “does this story make no sense what so ever (with a chuckle)“.

He also went on to add that the most important thing in this whole affair is that the Pakistanis are on his side and launched another attack on T-Series.

Many Indian twitter users were not amused by PewDiePie making light of a serious matter and registered a strong protest which included trending the hashtag #PewdiepieInsultsIndia.

Following this, PewDiePie decided to delete the particular segment and even ‘apologised’ on twitter while claiming that his comments were only made in context of “T-Series and artists getting screwed over”.
