PM-Designate Imran Khan Says He Wants The Pakistan That Jinnah Dreamed Of, Won’t Stay At Official Residence

Prime Minister-designate and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan today (26 July) while giving a victory speech said that he wanted Pakistan to become the country that its founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah envisioned. The cricketer-turned politician added that “change must come from the top” and that he wanted to rid the country of it cycle of rich people getting richer and poor people getting poorer.
Amid allegations of the elections being rigged, Khan said that he would not live in the Prime Minister’s official residence, saying that he was ashamed and that he would stay in a smaller house. He announced that the building would be converted either into a revenue-generating entity like a hotel or even an educational institution.
Promising to end the prevalent VIP culture in the Islamic Republic, Khan said that he would focus on fixing the economy and public spending and took a vow to make a Naya Pakistan.
Khan also addressed Pakistan’s rocky relationship with India, saying that he wanted to fix tied between the two nations and was willing to go the extra mile to do so.
Khan said that the contentious Kashmir issue would have be talked about, along with India’s recent “eye” on Balochistan. He said that if India took one step towards dialogue, Pakistan would take two.
