PM Modi, His Mauritius Counterpart To Inaugurate Brand New Supreme Court Building Built With Indian Aid

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and his Mauritius counterpart Pravind Jugnauth will today (29 July) inaugurate and dedicate to the people of Mauritius the all-new building of their Supreme Court built in Port Louis city with Indian grant assistance, reports Hindustan Times.
It should be noted that the building's construction marks the first India-assisted infrastructure project in the capital city of Mauritius.
The Supreme Court building in Port Louis is one of five major projects which have been implemented by India in Mauritius under a $353-million special economic package which had been extended to Mauritius by Indian government in 2016.
Meanwhile, yesterday (28 July), India also announced the implementation of nine "high impact community development projects" (HICDP) in the Maldives. India shares a strong bilateral relationship with Mauritius transcending various aspects of people-to-people ties, trade, and governance and security.
India has been on a spree to expand development project assistance in neighbouring nations like Mauritius, Maldives, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka et cetera to counter rising attempts by China to build influence in these nations using its debt-diplomacy.
