Disgruntled with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs marking a poor attendance at the Parliament, the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Tuesday (16 July) pulled up the BJP lawmakers and told the party leadership to inform him if they skip their duty, reports Indian Express.

Speaking at a BJP parliamentary party gathering, PM Modi also said that he should be given the names of all absentee ministers the very same evening.

Addressing the gathering of a large number of first-timer MPs, PM Modi asserted that "The first impression is the last impression." He also asked the Union Ministers to carry out their Parliament roster duty, when they are meant to be present in one of the Houses as a representative of the Government.

PM Modi also said that the ongoing Monsoon session, which is supposed to end on 26 July, could be extended if the government finds it necessary to pass its legislative agenda.

The Prime Minister also asked the MPs to look after their constituency by playing a leading role in its development. He also suggested the MPs to take up a social cause or an issue of human sensitivity as a “mission” apart from carrying out their duties.
