Three individuals from the same family are gearing up to contest the Telangana Assembly elections this time. The three parties being Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Indian National Congress and Telugu Desam Party.

Interestingly, a father-son duo is at loggerheads in this poll fight. Kuna Srisailam Goud and his son Vivekanand Goud are facing each other in an election for the Qutubullapur seat. The former is with the Congress party and the latter with TRS. Srisailam Goud’s uncle, Venkatesh Goud, is contesting from Sanathnagar on a TDP ticket.

Srisailam Goud won in 2009 as an independent and later lost to his son in 2014. Venkatesh Goud, on the other hand, says that he was inspired to enter politics when actor Chiranjeevi started his political outfit called Praja Rajyam. Contesting against Lok Satta Party’s Jayaprakash Narayan in the 2009 elections for the Kukatpally seat, he ended up losing to him.

Deccan Chronicle has reported that the members of the family maintain cordial relations with each other and are busy engaged in their campaigns for their respective seats.
