Post-Pulwama, It’s Advantage Modi, Says Opinion Poll By TV Channel

According to an opinion poll conducted by Times Now and VMR, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity among the electorate jumped seven per cent in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack, reports Economic Times (ET).
On 14 February (2019), 44 CRPF jawans were killed in a terrorist attack carried out by Pakistan-backed terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Pulwama, Kashmir.
In the poll carried out between 5 and 21 February, 52 per cent of the respondents said Narendra Modi had a better roadmap for the country, up by 7.6 per cent from an earlier round in January.
Only 27 per cent believed in Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s ability to lead the country. Regional leaders garnered only 7.3 per cent of the vote, down from 13.8 per cent in the previous round.
No Unemployment
In response to a different question, while 40 per cent said job losses are relatively less in present times and opportunities have grown, 36 per cent said there are “regular job losses.” Thus, 76 per cent of those polled did not express negative sentiments about the employment situation in the country.
However, 24 per cent said unemployment in India was currently much higher and that the government may not have accurate data.
Also, according to a recently released CVoter opinion poll, the NDA alliance led by Prime Minister Modi could grab as many 264 seats in the upcoming election.
