Police have increased security in parts of Uran, Navi Mumbai after pro-ISIS and pro-Jihadist messages were found inscribed on a bridge’s pillar, reports NDTV.
The messages also praised the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, as well as Lashkar-e-Toiba chief who masterminded the 26/11 attack, Hafiz Saeed.
Police were informed about the radical messages by locals from the village of Khopta which is located nearby.
Apart from the writings, some crude drawings were also found on the pillar, depicting infrastructure like airports, pipelines and trains.
Personnel from the Navi Mumbai crime branch as well as the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) also reached the site to take stock of the situation.
As some bottles of alcohol were also discovered near the bridge, there is also a possibility that the messages and drawings were made by some drunk miscreants. However, authorities are being careful with the situation because some important installations, such as a naval base and a power station, are located close to the spot of incident.
