Pulwama Attack Case: Amazon Purchase History Helps NIA Arrest Man Who Bought Chemicals To Make Bomb

In a major development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday (6 March) arrested two people for their role in Pulwama terror attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), reports New Indian Express.
The two arrested, 19-years-old Waiz-ul-Islam and 32-years-old Mohammad Abbass Rather, hail from Srinagar and Pulwama respectively.
As per reports, complying with NIA’s request, Amazon shared information about a buyer who used its e-commerce website to buy ingredients for the improvised explosive device (IED). Based on the furnished details, NIA arrested Waiz-ul-Islam.
During the interrogation, Islam has revealed that he had used his account on e-commerce website Amazon to procure chemicals, batteries and other relevant accessories on the directions of JeM. He further revealed that he had personally delivered the item to JeM terrorists after the required procurement.
The police further said that Rather is an over-ground worker of the JeM who had given shelter at his home to JeM terrorist and IED specialist Mohammad Umar in April-May of 2018.
It should be noted that the investigations by the NIA have recently gathered much steam as the institution has arrested five involved in the terrorist attack which killed 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) within the past one week.
