An FIR was filed against 35 individuals in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad area on charges of purposely defying the lockdown which has been ordered to curb the spread of coronavirus, Times Now has reported.
This incident happened on Friday (27 March) when these 35 individuals had gathered on the terrace of a house to perform Namaz. After the cops got to know of this incident, an FIR was filed at the Chikhali Police Station.
Subsequently the violators were booked under various sections of the IPC like section 269 - negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life and section 188 - disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.
The cops later arrested 13 people who were then released on bail.
